(Macadamia integrifolia)
Macadamia oil is cold-pressed from the nuts of macadamia trees. Macadamia oil is the 'creme de la creme' of nut oils. It has a high amount of monounsaturated fatty acids, even more than that in olive oil.
It is especially beneficial for dry and mature skin due to its high concentration of palmitoleic acid, more so than any other plant oil. This acid is naturally present in human sebum of young individuals. However, the amount reduces considerably as one ages. Hence, this oil is especially useful for mature skin.
Macadamia oil is very gentle and absorbed rapidly into the skin, giving a silky luxurious feel. It is particularly good for mature and dry skin as it is extremely moisturising.
